We are excited to announce that the Loan Market Association (LMA) is returning to Nairobi! We invite you to our East Africa Conference on 12 November 2024. This event promises a day filled with insightful discussions and valuable networking opportunities tailored for both LMA members and non-member colleagues. Featuring a great line of speakers, we will cover:

• Morning educational deep dive into how banks arrange and syndicate deals in the East African loan market: Looking at the mechanics of syndicated lending from a commercial perspective presented by Sanaa Tabani, Head of Syndicate Africa at Standard Chartered Bank.
• Understanding Borrower Motivations: Exploring what borrowers really care about with Robert Byk, Partner at Slaughter and May.
• Sustainability Panel Discussion: Engage with key industry players as they discuss the importance of sustainability in the East African loan market and how the concept translates in a pan-African context. 
• The Future of East African Loan Market: Delve into the where, how and to whom international banks, as well as DFIs, are deploying funds across the continent, the ongoing challenges of doing so and the outlook for the remainder of the year.

This event is free of charge and for LMA members, and selected non-members by invite only.

The event will begin with registration and breakfast at 09:00, followed by the conference starting at 09:30. The conference will conclude at 17:30, followed by a drinks and networking reception open to all attendees.

Cancellation Policy

This is an extremely popular event which attracts a long waiting list. You can cancel your attendance by 5.00 pm (UK time) on 8 November 2024, emailing registration.lmaevents@lma.eu.com. Failure to notify us or cancelling after this date, will result in your place being forfeited at the conference next year.
