Institutional Investor Committee
A month ago, we announced the launch of the Institutional Investor Committee, aimed at better representing the interests of our investor members and determining future activities that align with the LMA’s strategic goals—promoting liquidity, efficiency, and transparency across the loan markets.
With the invaluable support and representation from four of our esteemed Board members - Jeremy Selway (Deutsche Bank), Martin Luehrs (Morgan Stanley), Sebastien Potocean (Barings), and Michael Craig (Invesco) - covering both buy-side and sell-side perspective, we are excited to share the Initial Construct and Terms of Reference, along with the Request for Proposal which will formalise this committee and set out its working cadence. This allows greater ability for closer engagement with this member group and ensure their voice is represented.
The Committee will provide a platform for the voices of the industry to be heard more clearly, serving as the focal point for shaping workflows and outcomes in a curated and engaged manner. Any proposed activity will be driven through a formal submission, which will be assessed based on its alignment with the overall goals of the loan market—efficiency, liquidity, transparency, and sustainability—ensuring a broad, balanced perspective rather than a single view.
The primary objective of the Committee is to review and approve submissions or requests for LMA workflows and to establish Working Groups that will execute and deliver on these approved initiatives. The Committee will also have the ability to intervene, challenge, and hold accountable progress and objectives. The sponsor of any submission will likely assume accountability for delivery, with the LMA providing support in the execution.
Minutes of Meetings to be uploaded.
